Beginning in the 2024-2025 season, Ringette New Brunswick will undergo significant changes at the U14AA level. There will be no tryouts in the fall for Team NB at the U14 level and Team New Brunswick will be decided at Provincials in March. The top two U14-Tier 1 teams at Provincials will secure a spot at the Eastern Canadian Ringette Championships (ECRCs).
Ringette New Brunswick remains committed to safe and effective athlete development. This adjustment at the U14 level is a strategic move to encourage growth at the local level in terms of participation numbers, team strength, and community cohesion. The success of both our Community and High-Performance programs relies on the prosperity of Community initiatives. Community associations and teams are the foundation of ringette in New Brunswick, including our High-Performance Program. It's important to note that there will be no changes to the High-Performance Programs at the U16 and U19 levels, at this time.
This decision comes after discussions with Ringette Canada and members of Ringette New Brunswick, including local association presidents. The change will align NB with Ringette Canada for this age group and is the standard for other provinces to compete at the ECRCs. This decision aims to build on New Brunswick’s strong performances at ECRCs by fostering a sense of community and collaboration among athletes. U14 is an important age for skill development, including social and emotional skills. Creating additional competitive teams for more athletes to perform and develop, while also retaining numbers at the local associations. By removing the emphasis on individual success in tryouts, we anticipate a stronger team spirit and bonding as athletes collectively work towards the common goal of competing as a team for the right to represent New Brunswick and attend the ECRCs, which will be held in Quebec in 2025.
We invite our members to embrace this change, and to foster an environment where every athlete has the opportunity to wear the Team NB jersey with pride. We are excited about the prospect of great matchups and thrilling games at the 2025 New Brunswick Provincial Championships!

Débutant à la saison 2024-2025, Ringuette Nouveau-Brunswick subira d'importants changements au niveau U14AA. Il n'y aura pas d'essais à l'automne pour l'équipe NB au niveau U14. L'équipe du Nouveau-Brunswick sera déterminée lors des Provinciaux en mars et les deux meilleures équipes U14-Tier 1 aux Provinciaux obtiendront une position aux Championnats de l'Est de ringuette (CER).
Ringuette Nouveau-Brunswick demeure engagée envers le développement sécuritaire et efficace des athlètes. Cette modification au niveau U14 est une démarche stratégique visant à encourager la croissance au niveau local en termes de nombre de participants, de force des équipes et de cohésion communautaire. Le succès de nos programmes communautaires et de haute performance dépend de la prospérité des initiatives communautaires. Les associations et équipes communautaires constituent le fondement de la ringuette au Nouveau-Brunswick, y compris notre programme de haute performance. Il est important de noter qu'il n'y aura aucune modification aux programmes de haute performance aux niveaux U16 et U19, au moment.
Cette décision fait suite à des discussions avec Ringuette Canada et des membres de Ringuette Nouveau-Brunswick, y compris les présidents d'associations locales. Elle vise à renforcer les performances solides du Nouveau-Brunswick aux CER en favorisant un sentiment de communauté et de collaboration parmi les athlètes. L'âge de U14 est une période cruciale pour le développement des compétences, y compris les compétences sociales et émotionnelles pour les athlètes. En créant plus d’équipes compétitives pour permettre aux athlètes de performer et de se développer, tout en maintenant les effectifs au sein des associations locales. Nous invitons nos membres à embrasser ce changement et à favoriser un environnement où chaque athlète à l'opportunité de porter fièrement le maillot de l'équipe NB. Nous sommes enthousiastes à l'idée de superbes affrontements et de matchs palpitants lors des Championnats provinciaux du Nouveau-Brunswick en 2025!
