    Two More Scholarship winners named!

    Ringette Canada has announced its recipients for the Agnes Jacks and Cara Brown Scholarship awards.

    The Agnes Jacks Scholarship Award is presented to ringette players, coaches and/or officials who have demonstrated a strong academic performance and a commitment to the sport of ringette. Recipients receive a $1,000 scholarship towards post-secondary education and also receive a scholarship award certificate recognizing their achievements.

    Congratulations Jillian Buckingham of Fredericton NB on your second scholarship award. You might remember Jillian’s name as she has also won the RNB’s Capital Region scholarship award. (see photo below)

    The Cara Brown Ringette Scholarship was originally formed to recognize Cara’s involvement in ringette and is awarded to a registered ringette player who is actively playing ringette at the elite level, who is entering a Canadian university on a full-time basis for the first time, who combines academic excellence and a minimum of a B average with a strong commitment to the sport of ringette. Recipients receive a $1000 scholarship towards post-secondary education and also receive a scholarship award certificate recognizing their achievements.

    Isabelle has been a Ringette player for 9 years now with the Chaleur association. She has now been officiating for the past 2 years and has been involved as a volunteer during the Chaleur tournaments in the past as well as provided help to coaches of younger teams during practises. Her 2 letters of recommendations have been nothing more than a cherry on top. Her plans to go into healthcare next year are very realistic with her high 80 academic average. With that being said, we would like to honor Isabelle Anne Boudreau with the RNB scholarship.

    Jillian involved in the Ringette community for many years now, she has been playing since 2003 with the Fredericton Youth Ringette Association, she is also a RC level B certified referee since 2012 and has officiated at many levels. Having obtain her coaching certification she is currently coaching the U7 division in Fredericton and has been an on-ice assistant coach and junior coach since 2012. Jillian has shown great passion for the sport as she has been volunteering during Ringette camps, tournaments and championships. She has received 2 great letter of recommendations and has a good academic standing. With her future plans as becoming an LPN we are very happy to honor Jillian Buckingham with the RNB scholarship.

    Emily has been very successful on and off the ice, she has been a Ringette player since 2003 and has evolved in playing with the competitive teams since 2010 and since then has achieve a bronze medal at the Canada Winter Games this season. Emily has also officiated during the 2011-2012 season and was on the coaching staff for the U14 Stingers team this season. She is very involved at her school and in her community as a volunteer being on the Mayors Youth Council since 2012 as well as the student council.
